Harry Potter™ Grand Staircase

Harry Potter Grand Staircase Painting

Art Notes

Hogwarts Castle boasts a hundred and forty-two staircases within the many towers, turrets and extremely deep dungeons. The Grand Staircase led from platform to platform and went all the way to the seventh story. New incoming students would learn of the stair’s knack for moving around the staircase chamber, and of the many trick stairs they would have to negotiate. Portraits cover the walls, and it’s considered a great honor for the painted likeness of a witch or wizard to be hung on the walls of the Grand Staircase. Key Points

  • Harry Potter™ Grand Staircase is the fourth fine art collaboration between Warner Bros. and Thomas Kinkade Studios to capture the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. The first three paintings in the series were Harry Potter™ Hogwarts Express™, Harry Potter™ Diagon Alley™, and Harry Potter™ Hogwarts Castle™.
  • In this painting, Harry Potter™ is walking in the Grand Staircase with his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
  • Amongst the paintings on the wall, can you find the tribute to Thomas Kinkade? (Hint: Thomas once created a painting titled The Old Watchmaker.)
