Art Notes
Have you ever wondered where snowmen go when the weather gets warm? I have, and hopefully my next excursion to the North Pole will give an answer to that question for us all. Snowman Sanctuary is a whimsical look at a small town populated by snow people on respite from their winter duties down south. In Santa’s magic realm, it is cold all year long and perfect for our friends with carrot noses and coal lump eyes. Scan the village and discover fun details about its inhabitants. Dicken’s “Christmas Carol” is apparent on the main street, while a yeti helps adorn the town in its seasonal decorations. Jack Frost flies from his castle on a stream of ice and magic, while Santa engages in a friendly chat with a snowy city official.
Snowman Sanctuary is the first painting in my new Santa’s Northlands series. You can look forward to additional paintings in the coming years that will include “Reindeer Meadows” and “The Elves’ Workshop.” Until that time, however, stay warm, and I want to thank you for sharing my adventure in art.
