Art Notes
Nanette and I love to walk hand-in-hand in the moonlight, and Moonlight Lane is our long-overdue romantic walk through the English countryside. Moonlight, with its dramatic moods and colorations, its rich, transparent shadows, its warm lemon-yellow highlights, is a challenge and a delight. In this painting I was particularly pleased with the way reflections of moonlight and of the illuminated cottage interior mingle in the puddles. Indeed, I'm so intrigued by the romantic aura of Moonlight Lane that I intend to follow it in future paintings.
