“Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”– Luke 2:14
Out in the countryside, the shepherds had been tending their flocks in the field when an angel appeared to them. The glory of the Lord shone brightly behind the angel who told them not to be afraid. Then the angel proclaimed: “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
Thomas Kinkade Studios is proud to present Away in the Manger, our artistic interpretation of the writings in Luke 2:1-20, the birth of baby Jesus. The wisemen have traveled on camels from the countryside to see for themselves what the angels of the Lord had proclaimed. It had come to pass that the baby Jesus was resting quietly in the bed Joseph and Mary had fashioned from the feeding trough inside the manger they had taken refuge in. Now when the wisemen had seen Jesus, they proclaimed across the lands all that was told to them concerning the Child. Glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen.
